Josh Pullinger
Landscaping Knowledge Built from the Ground Up
Josh Pullinger’s career in landscaping began with a gardener’s apprenticeship and a hands-on education in working with the land. He trained under an experienced North London gardener, learning how to prune, plant, maintain and understand gardens through the changing seasons. That early grounding gave him a practical understanding of how outdoor spaces work, not just how they look.
Years spent on the tools taught Josh the details that make a garden last: how ground conditions affect a build, what a terrace needs beneath it, how materials perform over time, and why every successful project depends on careful preparation as much as the finished result.
Pullinger Landscapes was founded to bring that practical knowledge into every stage of a project. The aim was simple: to create gardens that are well considered, properly built and suited to the homes they belong to.
That is still how we work today. Josh leads each project personally and stays closely involved throughout the build, from a courtyard in Islington to a family garden in Muswell Hill.

Josh Pullinger leads every project personally, working with an experienced team and, where a job calls for it, trusted specialist trades. That way every part of the garden is handled properly, from groundwork and construction through to planting and finishing.

We resolve the structure, the levels and the flow first. The pretty part is easy once the bones are right.

Real stone, proper foundations, work you can’t see done as carefully as the work you can. It’s why our gardens age well.

We’d rather build a relationship than a one-off job. Many of our clients we’ve looked after for years.

Permeable surfaces, native planting, reclaimed materials and peat-free soil, woven through the way we work, not bolted on.

Most of our work is in North and North West London, and we regularly take on gardens in Central London and close-in West and East too. Working in areas we know well means we understand the soil, the light, the period houses and the local planning quirks, and we can be with you quickly when a garden needs us.
