A Mews Frontage in Marylebone

The brief

Pullinger Landscapes was tasked with bringing life and vibrancy to the front of a charming Marylebone mews house. The goal was to soften the exterior and create a welcoming, stylish space for the homeowners to enjoy their morning coffee.

Our approach

To achieve this, we introduced elegant faux Buxus balls beneath the windows, adding structure and year-round greenery without the need for maintenance. At the front of the property, carefully positioned Pittosporum shrubs were planted to frame a small seating area, turning an otherwise unused space into a calm, inviting spot to relax and watch the world go by.

The build

Everything came in and out by hand on a narrow cobbled mews. The faux Buxus balls were fitted neatly beneath the sash windows so the frontage reads as one composed piece. The Pittosporum was planted into the existing tall planters flanking the door, where its evergreen structure gives the seating area a proper backdrop.

The result

A simple, thoughtful frontage that shows how careful planting and layout can completely change the feel of even the smallest urban space. What was an unused patch of cobbles is now a calm, inviting spot with colour and character, and a place the owners actually want to sit.
